"Classic makeup and beauty" by Mary Quant - Applying false eyelashes
For special occasions when you want to create a dramatic effect, try enhancing and lengthening your top lashes with false eyelashes. These should be applied after eyeshadow and eyeliner, and are not as hard to put on as you might think. To remove, hold the outside edge of the lash and peel off as gently but as quickly as you can.
1. Pick up a false eyelash with a pair of clean tweezers and, using your other hand, run a small amount of glue (normally supplied with a set of false eyelashes) along the lop edge. Wait about 30 seconds for the glue to dry slightly.
2. Line up the outer edge of the false eyelash against the outer edge of your own lashes. Push as close as possible into the roots and try not to panic. Make sure the eyelash is secure at both corners as well as at the center of the lid.
3. Keep the eye closed for 30 seconds and then run a thin line of liquid eyeliner over the "seam" to give a neat finish.
THE FINISHED EFFECT: False eyelashes lengthened with a little mascara give the eye a dramatic, glamorous look.
